My Entry For This Week's I Heart Faces Photo Challenge - Sun Flare | Maris Ehlers Photography

My entry this week for the I Heart Faces challenge "Sun Flare" is this picture I took on a glorious summer evening this past July.  The sun was near setting, giving everything, even the grass, a lovely yellow glow.  I love how it created the best rim lighting on her hair!

My I Heart Faces Entry This Week | Maris Ehlers Photography

My entry for this week's I Heart Faces Photo Challenge, which is the Best Face of February, is of my 7 year old son.  He dreams of being a scientist, and so we spent an hour or so making his childhood dreams come true.  It was really hard to decide which image to pick, but I chose this one because it simply makes me laugh, and it is HIS look when he does something against my advice and warnings -  and the results are exactly what I told him they'd be.  BAD.  He is definitely the most curious kid I know!

This submission goes along with my blog entry this morning, which is all about childhood dreams.  It tells the story of this picture and reminds us to not only remember our own childhood dreams, but to nurture our children's.

My Entry to "I Love Faces" Photo Contest | Maris Ehlers Photography

This picture is from a wedding in Minnesota this past November.  Brian and Sara's big day fell on our first snow storm of the season, which happened to be a blizzard.  Here are some other favorites of mine from their wedding.

Initially, I felt so bad for the bride and groom because of the bad weather and the bad roads, but in the end, we made the most of it and some of my most favorite wedding pictures to date are from this day.

I was beyond excited when we got this shot.  The sun had for the most part set, the wind was howling and the air coming off of the waves from Lake Minnetonka was absolutely frigid, but I guess this is proof that love can keep you warm.

~Enjoy.

I Heart Faces Pet Challenge | Maris Ehlers Photography

Here is my entry for the I Heart Faces  Pet Challenge.  Each year, we celebrate our dog Ruger's birthday with a special meal.  This last birthday the kids and I made him THEIR favorite - pancakes with whipped cream and sprinkles... complete with birthday hat and heart paper plates.  :)  Yes, he's sitting at the table.
