Allie and Nate - Redeemer Church (Wayzata) and Bayview Event Center (Excelsior) | Maris Ehlers Photography

We thought today's post would be a perfect opportunity to share the details from Allie and Nate's gorgeous wedding.  Enjoy!

The mother of the bride and many of her friends collected peonies from their yards as they were just beginning to bloom in May.  They cut them, wrapped them in plastic and refrigerated them until a few days before the wedding, allowing them to start to bloom before turning them into stunning DIY bouquets.  They smelled lovely, and how special to know that they came from the gardens and yards of family and friends.

Allie and Nate chose a palette of navy, fuschia and tan, and obviously brought in various shades of pinks with their florals.  I hadn't seen this palette in a wedding previously, and it is now a favorite.

Allie's rings are just incredible!

Here we had a little fun with all of the fun shoes worn that day and their flowers.

This gorgeous strand of pearls belonged to Allie's grandmother.

Angel took this picture, and I love it.  The handkerchief was given to Allie by her mother (it belonged to Allie's great grandmother on her mother's side, Mabel).

Angel took this picture of a window in the church.  and I liked the soft reflection of light on the wood paneling above.

The reception, at Bayview Event Center in Excelsior, is one of our most favorite venues in the Twin Cities.

Allie collected milk glass from family members to use as centerpieces on the tables to hold all of the peonies used.

Nate's aunt Dori makes the most amazing toffee on the planet.  Truly.  The gifts for the guests were small bags of the toffee that they made before the wedding, with a thank you note from Allie and Nate.  On the backside of the card is the link to where their wedding pictures will be hosted online in a few weeks.

I thought this was a great idea.  Allie used an antique-looking mirror to hold cards with the guest names in alphabetical order and the table number where they would be sitting.  A nice change from having to hunt down your place card on a long table.

There were many hand-made touches throughout the day, including the special place cards for the bride and groom.

Bayview has a great fireplace and mantle in the main reception room, so they decorated it with engagement pictures, childhood images and of course, more peonies in milk glass.

The pink and navy carried through to their wedding programs.

One last look at the head table.

Stay tuned for more blog posts this week with MANY more pictures.  We're trying to decide if we should do the first look next or save it for last.  :)
